This is really HISTORY
and not any one of hiSTORY...
Idea for Thorny Road To White House as born in 1984 in Harlem by artists-interior designer, Mile Šeća. His "road" to finish all twelve pictures was not easy either. It was time consuming and thorny too. Researching history took plenty of time. Also, finding and buying wood (veneer) has taken plenty of time & money.
Different life's problems interrupted his art works for months and months and then 1996 stroke hit him and recovery continue slowly until the end of 2001... Year 2005 he went to China and married with famous Chinese artists, Seahawk Wang-Radojčić and Finally 2007 in March, he finished The Thorny Road To The White House.
He had two exhibitions in China. First exhibition was from June 27 to July 03 in Dong Shan City ("Chinese Hawaii") and second from November 07 to November 14 at Song Zhuang-Beijing November Art Festival. The Thorny Road To The White House made a lot of interest in China. He had two interviews. First one for by "Dong Shan's Daily", then in Beijing by weekly Beijing "MONEY" magazine wrote about him and his wife.
Medium: VENEER (not paint) are tin sheets shredded from different trees and then cured or dried. Artist has to cut veneer into smaller pieces with unique shapes choosing grains and natural color of wood and then install them together into a PICTURE. Very tedious works.
